Dr. Joseph A. Khalil

Dr. Joe Khalil

Dr. Joseph Khalil graduated with honors and multiple awards from Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 2000. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an elite national dental honor society. In 2003, he went on to complete his prosthodontic specialty residency in Iowa City at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

As a skilled prosthodontist, Dr. Khalil is an expert in restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. With extensive experience and training in modern state of the art techniques, Dr. Khalil can transform even the most challenging cosmetic and restorative problems into beautiful smiles.

Dr. Khalil is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics and actively participates in continuing education seminars and professional organizations. This gives him the opportunity to discuss the newest ideas and treatments with other colleagues, which ultimately benefits his patients. He has also lectured in the last three years on various topics, including aesthetic dentistry, treatment planning of complex restorative cases, and dental photography.


Dr. Jonathan F. Lillard

Dr. Jonathan Lillard

Dr. Lillard grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, along the banks of the Hudson River, the oldest of five children. After graduating from Georgetown Dental School, he spent two years as Senior Dental Officer in Naval District Washington. His internship proved to be a valuable lesson in dental and medical education, learning several advanced modalities in dentistry that would begin a long and never-ending postgraduate experience. He also taught part-time at Georgetown School of Dentistry for several years as a Clinical Operative Instructor. He considers dentistry both an art and a science. His mother was Chairman of the art department at Pratt University in Brooklyn, New York, for 25 years.

Dr. Lillard earned his DDS at Georgetown School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1972. He has experience in all phases of dentistry including advanced training in dental implants, CEREC, and many other innovative technologies that he implements for optimal clinical care and patient comfort. He has also authored numerous articles in leading dental journals and was distinguished as Washington's Consumer's CheckBook top-rated dentist in Virginia.


Beth-Registered Dental Hygienist

Beth—Registered Dental Hygienist
Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Beth has been a dental hygienist since graduating from Fayetteville Technical Community College in 1997. Prior to college, she joined the US Navy as a dental assistant and was stationed in San Diego, California. Beth’s training was also as an operating room assistant, so she was fortunate to work with the oral surgery residency program at Balboa Naval Hospital. This training and experience is how she knew that the dental field was what she loved, and that pursuing an education in dental hygiene was the right choice.
Beth loves her job at Arlington Dental by Design, and she is committed to helping patients feel more comfortable when they come in for cleanings and showing them the latest technology and technique in relation to all aspects of dentistry. She has the pleasure of working regularly with Dr. Khalil and many others on our wonderful team. A committed professional, Beth is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association.
Beth’s hobbies are boating, her French Bulldog “Izzy,” and relearning golf, which she hasn’t played since her teenage years! She is a proud mother of two grown daughters, Tamara and Katherine. Tamara also works in the dental field in Winston-Salem, NC, and Katherine is currently an advertising major at VCU in Richmond.


Dara-Dental Hygienist

Dara—Registered Dental Hygienist
Born and raised in Northern VA, Dara completed her degree in dental hygiene at Northern VA Community College in 2007. She has worked at Arlington Dentistry by Design since graduating. Since 2004, she had worked as a dental assistant, realizing almost immediately that dental hygiene was the career for me. I loved helping people and watching their lives change one smile at a time. Dara says that she and Dr. Khalil have very similar morals and work ethics. They both strive to do their best and provide superior care, which is one of the many reasons she was so excited to join our dental team.

Dara is a proud new homeowner living in the NOVA area. She has a wonderful, tightly knit family who she says have been her number one supporters. Dara’s hobbies include any outdoor activities or sports, spending time with loved ones, and her adorable dogs. Dancing and meeting new people are also among her interests.

People who know Dara say she is caring, thorough, and dedicated to what she does. She loves seeing the difference she can make in a person’s life just by educating them in dental care.


Bichina-Clinical Assistant

Bichina—Clinical Assistant
A committed member of our team for many years, Bichina earned her dental assistant diploma from ACT, and also holds X-ray certification. She wholeheartedly contributes to our goal of serving patients with the best dental care, and assists our doctors daily in that effort. Bichina loves seeing our patients smile, both when they’re welcomed into the office at the start of their visit, and at the end, when they’re enjoying a beautiful, healthy smile.
Bichina and her husband have a son, Nathan, with whom she spends as much time as possible, in addition to traveling when she gets the chance.


Rosina-Clinical Assistant

Rosina—Clinical Assistant
In addition to assisting our doctors with dental procedures, Rosina holds an X-ray certificate. She’s been a part of our dental family for a number of years, and says she loves the quality of dental care, work ethic, and loyalty our team devotes to our patients. An enthusiastic people person, Rosina looks forward to her interactions with patients and coworkers, and the wonderful feeling that comes with helping people smile. Rosina’s family lives in Lima, Peru, and she has been a North Virginian since 1987. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, arts and crafts, music, pets, reading, and travel.


Kimberly-Clinical Assistant

Kimberly—Clinical Assistant
A native Washingtonian who was educated at Northern Virginia Community College, Kimberly has worked with Dr. Khalil since 2005. She appreciates the integrity, ethics, and quality of dentistry that we strive to deliver on a daily basis. Kimberly considers our patients and team part of her extended family, and enjoys the chance to change lives through dentistry.





Tip-Patient Coordinator

Tip—Patient Coordinator
Tip describes our practice, which offers sedation, cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, and general and preventive dentistry, as “a complete dental institute!” She has been working with Dr. Khalil since 2003, and exemplifies our standard of honest, caring, and attention to patients. Tip believes those values are why we see so many familiar faces around our office every day. The biggest reward in her line of work is to see the patients walk out of here with a big smile.
When she’s not helping our patient care run smoothly, Tip enjoys spending time with her son and family, eating at her mom’s restaurant, volunteering at her son’s school, and being a football mom.


Brandy-Patient Coordinator

Brandy—Patient Coordinator
Born and raised in Northern VA, Brandy has worked in the dental field for more than 15 years, first as a dental assistant, then as a patient coordinator. Her thorough knowledge of dental treatment and front office procedures gives her a unique ability to assist our patients through the process. Brandy says the level of teamwork that exists at our practice goes above and beyond any other she has experienced. She loves contributing to the work we do, improving oral health and giving patients a reason to smile.

When Brandy isn’t assisting our patients at the office, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and other family and friends, volunteering with the local fire department as an EMT, and being an instructor of EMT and CPR.


Sheila-Patient Coordinator

Sheila—Patient Coordinator
Sheila attended Dunbarton College in Washington, DC, and brought her wealth of experience to our team in 2005. She considers Arlington Dentistry by Design an innovative practice that has an excellent quality of dentistry, a friendly atmosphere, and outstanding co-workers. Always eager to learn something new and utilize her problem-solving skills, Sheila enjoys that her job is challenging, creative, and encourages her to think outside the box. She says the best part of her job is interacting with patients, helping them attain the smiles they deserve.
In her spare time, Sheila travels, plays tennis, exercises, and reads. She has two grown children: a son, who is studying to be a chemical engineer, and a daughter, who works as a financial analyst in Georgetown.
